Birth Help, LLC offers childbirth classes, doula services, and doula training. Doulas attend births in and around the Baton Rouge area , including Zachary, Hammond, Covington, Lafayette, and New Orleans .

Childbirth classes focus on information, techniques and comfort measures to help women give birth as "naturally" as possible. Classes are available in groups or private sessions.

The Bradley® Method teaches normal, natural birth with no unnecessary medications or interventions. Through these 12 classes, women gain confidence that their bodies were designed to give birth. Fathers learn what to expect during labor and how they can best support the birth process. Topics covered include: relaxation, nutrition, exercises, the "map" of labor, comfort measures, birth plans, and positions for labor.

The class "Excited, Exhausted, Expecting" for expectant Mothers will be every first, second and third Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. Childcare will be provided on-site for a fee of $5 per FAMILY, to cover the cost of pizza for dinner. It will be held in the Nursing Mother's Room at River Valley Church (www.rivervalleychurch.net)

The class is a 9 week study focusing on the physical, emotional and spiritual changes unique to pregnancy, with a group baby shower on the 10th week!

Karen Henshaw offers childbirth classes using the Bradley method, doula services, breastfeeding consultation and is currently apprenticing as a midwife under a Naturopathic Physician.

The Bradley Method classes are a 12 week class series focusing on: Nutrition, Labor Preparation Exercises, and Relaxation Techniques. In addition to the standard twelve week course, private classes and refresher courses are also available.
